FINE ART
AS and A2 LEVEL

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
5 A* - C at GCSE and grade ‘C’ in Art & Design: If Art has not been studied at GCSE level then a portfolio of evidence that shows your ability will be needed.

AIMS

to enable candidates to develop personal responses to ideas, observations, experiences, environments and cultures.

to extend flexibility to allow students to work from their strengths.

to provide an appropriate foundation for further study of Art and Design or related subjects in higher education.


COURSE CONTENT
The course will cover drawing and painting, mixed media including collage and assemblage, sculpture and printmaking.
Art and Design is an acceptable A level for university and art school entry and relevant to the ‘designed society’ in which we all live. It could lead to opportunities in many ‘creative’ areas, Design, Architecture, Fashion, Media, Theatre, etc.


PORTFOLIO UNITS
At AS Level students are expected to complete 2 ‘UNITS’. One internally set and one externally set.
At A2 students are expected to complete a further 2 ‘UNITS’. One internally set and one externally set.
