AS and A2 LEVEL
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Ideally grade C or above in GCSE Dance but auditions will be available to students with appropriate extra curricular experience.

CONTENT
In AS two main areas of study Understanding Dance; and Choreography and Performance.
In A2 Dance Appreciation; and Group Choreography and Solo Performance.

ASSESSMENT
First year you will sit a written paper on Understanding Dance worth 40% of AS marks.
Practical Coursework on Choreography and Performance worth 60% of AS marks.
Second year a written paper on Dance Appreciation worth 50% of A2 marks and practical exam on Group Choreography and Solo Performance worth 50% of A2 marks.

USEFULNESS IN THE FUTURE
Dance helps students develop a number of skills:

Visual appreciation of dance and choreography

Balanced judgement

Information gathering and assessment

Ability to work on your own or as part of a team

Communication
You will take your first steps in developing your own creativity as a dancer or choreographer and acquire transferable skills.
