CONTENTS
The course consists of five lessons a week. Zeitgeist is the main course book and this is supplemented by a wide variety of authentic materials.
Students are encouraged to do work experience in Germany. We recommend that they invest in a German journal and a good dictionary.

ASSESSMENT
There are two exams at the end of the year. One is a spoken exam and one a written exam which also assesses Listening and Reading skills.

USEFULNESS IN THE FUTURE
The course is designed to cater for students intending to embark on a traditional honours degree in Languages or one of the many newer degree courses with a Modern Language component. It would also be useful for students for whom the study of a language might provide a useful secondary skill. The ability to communicate in a European Language is increasingly becoming an asset for job seekers.
