ANTONIO CAPARELLI – URBAN STUDIES & TOWN PLANNING AT SHEFFIELD UNI
The 6th form has a very ’family’ atmosphere. My teachers and form tutor put in 100% when writing my references for University and provided me with useful advice to meet my target grades for Uni! Before I started in the 6th form, I hadn't even considered going to University so through careers advice (on PSHE Days, and similar things) I began to realise what field of employment I wanted to go in to once I left post-16. The 6th form is also well regarded by Universities as well as around East Lancashire.
DANIEL FITCH – PRIMARY TEACHING AT CHESTER UNI
Saint Wilfrids VIth form provided me with the perfect platform to improve myself in all areas. I found the facilities and staff excellent and would not hesitate to recommend this college to any year 11's.
I already miss the family feel at sixth form after receiving great support and guidance during my time there.
I am now studying Education Studies and Maths at the University of Chester, which i am loving. However, i still miss VIth form massively.
HAYLEY BALL – SOCIOLOGY AT WORCESTER
I miss Wilfrids because everybody knew everybody... if that’s a good thing, there is always someone to go to, plus after 7 years its like a second home! :D
EMILY WATTS – BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE – BANGOR (she says to edit as we wish)
The main reason I chose to carry on at St Wilfrids 6th form is because of how comfortable Ii felt in the classroom with the teachers. Teachers at Wilfrids have a great rapport with the students and treat them like adults.
I really enjoyed the house system at St Wilfrids. I became a house captain and felt really involved. It was lots of fun and brought students together in a competitive and fun way. That’s the thing Ii will miss most, the house system (Truro!!) and the friendly atmosphere of knowing everyone.
I’m currently in my second year at Bangor University studying Biomedical Science.
FIONA METCALF – SOCIOLOGY AT NOTTINGHAM
My time at Wilfrid’s shaped me as a person and became two of the most enjoyable years of my life – I loved it!
CHARLOTTE HEATLEY – SOCIOLOGY AT MANCHESTER MET
Basically I loved how much it was like your second family, everyone is a familiar face and Ii never felt afraid to ask any of my teachers for help or go and knock on anyone’s office if I was stuck! I never wanted to leave and everyone Ii speak to now, even though they love uni, would kill to go back, which says loads Ii think.
Basically i loved it all so much and would pay anything to go back for a day :)
