Yr 11 Parents evening

Dear Parent/Guardian

I would like to invite you to the forthcoming Year 11 Parents’ Evening on Tuesday 24 January 2012 between 5.45 pm and 8.15 pm. Your son/daughter will have received their mock examination results so this is an important evening to discuss their progress and current attainment with subject teachers and where desired form tutors.

Procedure for parents:

• Inform your son or daughter of the time span within which you would like appointments made.

• Please try to see all subject staff

• If staff request appointments with specific parents/guardians please prioritise these.

Procedure for staff

• Staff will identify and make appointments for the parents/guardians they need to see, and if necessary book a double appointment. (6 mins)

• Staff will then make appointments, as requested by parents.

• Staff have been instructed to keep strictly to their appointment schedule so please don’t be offended if they curtail your consultation.

Procedure for pupils:

• Ask staff for appointments and record the time (page 3 in planners).

• Ensure at least one gap (3 minute minimum) is left between appointments with different staff.

Organisation:

• Appointments are at 3 minute intervals and, for your convenience students should leave at least a 3 minute space between appointments to allow movement. This enables the smooth running of the evening with minimal queues.

• Staff will be situated in the Hall and in classrooms.

• A diagram will be available in the entrance to show where staff can be found.

• Throughout the evening, Mr Whyte (Principal), Mrs Stamford and myself will be available should you have any queries.

• Please note that because of fire regulations, parents are asked to sign in on arrival at school and sign out again on leaving; a desk with alphabetical lists will be located outside the Hall.

• All students attending must be in full school uniform.

I am sure the evening will be most informative and we look forward to seeing as many parents as possible on Tuesday 24 January.

Yours sincerely

Mr C Smith

Year 11 Manager
