Key Stage 3

November 2008

Dear Parent/Guardian

I wish to remind you of the forthcoming opportunity to meet Subject Teachers at the Year 9 Parents’ Evening on Monday 17 November between 5.45 pm to 8.15 pm. This will be an important evening to discuss your son or daughter’s progress at St. Wilfrid’s.

Procedures for parents:

• Inform your son or daughter of the time span within which you would like appointments made.
• If staff have specifically requested an appointment please prioritise these.
• Please indicate any other staff you would like to see in the planner.

Procedures for staff:

• Some staff teach several classes of Year 9 pupils and will not be able to see all parents.
• Staff will identify and make appointments for the parents they need to see, and if necessary book a double appointment.
• Staff will then make appointments, as requested by parents.
• Staff have been instructed to strictly keep to their appointment schedule so please don’t be offended if they curtail your consultation.

Procedure for pupils:

• Ask staff for appointments and record the time (page 10 in planners).
• Ensure at least one gap (3 minute minimum) is left between appointments with different staff.

Organisation:

• Appointments are at 3 minute intervals and, for your convenience students should leave at least a 3 minute space between appointments to allow movement. This enables the smooth running of the evening with minimal queues.
• Staff will be situated in the Hall and in classrooms.
• A diagram will be available in the entrance to show where staff can be found.
• Throughout the evening, Mr Whyte (Headteacher), Miss Huddleston and Mrs Stamford will be available should you have any queries.
• Please note that because of fire regulations, parents are asked to sign in on their arrival at school, a desk with lists will be located outside the Hall.
• All students who attend must be in full school uniform.

I am sure the evening will be most informative and I look forward to seeing as many parents as possible on the 17th November.

Yours sincerely

Mrs S Stamford
Assistant Headteacher - Achievement
