Product Design - Textiles and 3D

PRODUCT DESIGN - 3D and TEXTILES are stimulating and rewarding courses which complement other A Level subjects. The courses are divided into a 50% examination theory unit and 50% individual coursework unit. The courses enable the learner to develop creative thinking and problem solving skills as well as broadening technical knowledge, all of which are highly valued in today’s competitive workplace. The creation and manufacture of new products stimulates growth in the economy and offers opportunities for business entrepreneurs. Product Design at A Level provides a solid foundation for progression to higher education and lifelong learning.
Past students have continued their studies through design related degrees in illustration, furniture design, sports science, interior design, architecture
and accessory design. Some have joined local companies, whilst others have benefited from advanced work related training.

Also offered is A Level Food which is an exciting course that will stretch and develop your designing and making abilities, using food as a material. Design products for target groups, focus on nutrition and product analysis. Create and modify new products. The course is diverse and stimulating and enables progression onto higher education or career routes such as food product developers, dieticians and journalism.
