TRAVEL and TOURISM
AS and A2 LEVEL

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
No experience of Travel and Tourism is required. You will need 4 GCSE passes (A* to C) one in either English or Maths.

AIMS
The A Level designed to provide knowledge and understanding of the Travel and Tourism Industry.

ASSIGNMENTS
You will produce two pieces of coursework in both your AS and A2 years. You will also complete a variety of written & research tasks. You will also perform role play activities.

CONTENT & ASSESSMENT
There are three units in each year of the course, they will provide knowledge of the Travel and Tourism Industry and an understanding of many of the issued facing the industry.
AS:
Inside Travel and Tourism (33.3%) External Exam in Jan or June
Travel and Tourism – A People Industry (33.3%) Coursework
Travel Destinations (33.3%) Coursework
A2 Year:
Travel and Tourism Project (33.3%) Coursework
Current Issues in Travel and Tourism (33.3%) Coursework
Travel and Tourism – People and Quality (33.3%) Examination

USEFULNESS IN THE FUTURE
The A-level will provide a basis for further study in related subjects in higher education as well as preparation for careers in the travel and tourism industry.
