About Our School
St. Wilfrid's Church of England High School serves the whole of the Blackburn Diocese as an 11–18 Church of England High School. We became a Specialist School, as a Technology College in September 1997.
The education we provide is based on a strong Anglican tradition and is focused on continuous improvement and maximising the potential of every member of our family. A special relationship exists between the staff and pupils that guarantees the pupils’ right to learn, staff the right to teach and the right to safety for all. We also enjoy an excellent working partnership with Governors, Blackburn Diocese and the Blackburn with Darwen Education Authority. Through this excellent partnership we have completed the total rebuilding of the school on the Duckworth Street site. The school provides a building worthy of our Mission Statement as we work in partnership to make St Wilfrid’s a Beacon for Church education nationally.
