iPads and IT
To inspire confident, independent learners, every student at St Wilfrid’s will receive a school managed iPad to support their learning journey.
The iPad is a powerful tool that enhances classroom experiences and helps students take ownership of their learning. From interactive lessons to research and revision, students will use their device across subjects to deepen their understanding and develop essential digital skills. The iPad also makes it easier for students to stay organised, collaborate with peers and complete homework and revision.
Each device is set up and managed by the school to ensure all students have access to high-quality learning resources in a safe and structured environment. Internet access is filtered, and app use is carefully monitored during the school day to support positive and purposeful use.
We offer three different iPad for learning schemes this academic year. Students are able to purchase a device through a 36-month direct debit agreement totalling to £360. Each student will be supplied with a device, case, charger and apps used in the academy. Payments will be made through ‘GoCardless’ and direct debit payments will be charger on the last working day of each month. More information can be found in the ‘iPad Terms and Conditions 2025’ document attached.
The Academy also supports a ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD). Students are able to use a device they already own that runs IOS 15 or greater. Your child will be fully responsible for their own device in the academy.
The academies final iPad for learning scheme is the option of a loan device. Students will have the ability to loan a device owned by the academy each day. Students must return the device back to the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) at the end of each day.
More information can be found in the ‘iPad for Learning Option Form’ document attached.
