“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind… and love your neighbour as yourself.”

Matthew 22:37

You are made up of more than what you can see!

You are amazing! Let’s not forget that as a starting point for all that we are facing at this present time. You are amazing by design. You are amazing on purpose. Your designer was creative, and in you, you have the ability to create. You are amazing!

In Psalm 139:13-14 we read, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

That was the experience and conclusion of King David. When he spent time reflecting and evaluating on all that he saw, felt and did, his belief was that God was in everything. You may have come to the same conclusion, or you may have a different perspective. This week we are considering how we can consider how our different parts can contribute to our overall sense of strength and wholeness.

Jesus was asked a question by an expert in the Law. His motivation was not to learn from the teacher, but to trick Jesus into saying something blasphemous (something against God). He asked, “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law.” Jesus replied, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment’. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ ”

Our Big Idea is that you are more than you can see. Take time this week to consider that you are more than just a body with senses, but you have a heart, soul and mind that are working together to support your feeling of wholeness.
