The 2025 Sixth Form Students have achieved amazing results this year. The overall pass rate has risen to 98% for the challenging A-Level courses with many subjects achieving 100%, including English, Art, History, Religious Education and Physics. Nearly a third of all students attained B, A or A* Grades.
Our vocational students also excelled, achieving an average student grade of Distinction* in Business Studies and Applied Science.
We are proud of the hard work and talent of the young people and our teachers and support staff are excited about their next steps.
There have been some truly exceptional individual performances this year, including Josh Alvarez with A* A* A, and Roukéya Diallo and Aresha Sheikh who both achieved incredible grades of A* A A.
Roukéya has been offered a place at Oxford University to study Medicine and caps off a successful year where she served as Head Girl for the Academy. She said “Oxford has always been the dream from Day 1. I’ve been dead set on going and have just tried my best each step along the way. I’m thankful for the way St Wilfrid’s has supported me here – I have felt valued and that my voice has always been heard.”
Aresha will initially be taking a gap year and will be focusing on growing her successful photography business. “I just love it – photography has been a passion for a long time and I’m looking forward to capturing many more memories for my clients.”
Aliyah Bangi also achieved straight As and is excited to study Medicine at Leeds. She said “I’m so happy with my results and what I’ve been able to achieve. Leeds is a great city and I can’t wait to get started on this next chapter in life.”
Roukéya and Aliyah have both been part of the Sixth Form’s popular MedSoc group, which is an intentional society that practically prepares students on the Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary pathway. “Everyone has pre-conceptions of what medicine might entail, but I learned a lot about what being a doctor is actually like. We didn’t just talk about things, we actually acted on them and got to experience skills such as suturing.” said Roukéya.
